Installing Solar Systems in Garbsen: the Process Step by Step

6. Electrical installation: a qualified electrician lays the cables, installs the Fronius inverter and the optional BYD battery and adapts the meter cabinet.
7. Meter replacement and commissioning: the meter operator installs a bidirectional meter. We then commission the system, enter it in the Market Master Data Register and show you the app.

How Much Does a Solar System Cost in Garbsen?

Supply and installation on or at residential buildings are subject to 0% VAT. In the Hanover Region, a 10 kWp system produces about 8,900 kWh per year. Without storage, households typically use 25 to 35% of it themselves, and around 55 to 70% with storage. At an assumed electricity price of 37 ct/kWh, every self-consumed kilowatt-hour is worth almost five times the roughly 7.70 ct feed-in tariff.

Funding in Garbsen

Garbsen is part of the Hanover Region but not part of proKlima’s funding area. proKlima only funds projects in Hanover, Hemmingen, Laatzen, Langenhagen, Ronnenberg and Seelze. These may apply to you:

• Hanover Region, Dach-Solar: €150 per m² of module area above the legal minimum on existing buildings. Dach-Solar, however, is only available with simultaneous roof insulation and from a calculated grant of €4,000. Apply before placing the order.
• 0% VAT and no income tax on income from systems up to 30 kWp per residential unit
• EEG feed-in tariff: about 7.70 ct/kWh for systems up to 10 kWp commissioned since 1 August 2026, fixed for 20 years
• KfW 270 loan: a low-interest loan, not a grant

There is no nationwide grant for PV systems or batteries. Under the planned EEG amendment 2027, only systems commissioned by 31 December 2026 are certain to receive the fixed tariff for 20 years. Which Roofs in Garbsen Are Suitable?

Garbsen has many detached and terraced houses, plus commercial areas along the A2. Suitable are:

• south, east and west-facing roofs with little shading
• terraced house roofs, if there is enough space for several modules
