PVPro Solar: your installation partner for a balcony power plant in Hannover
We are a photovoltaic specialist based on Eichstraße in Hannover. Our daily work is rooftop systems with battery storage and wallboxes. We mount balcony power plants with the same standards as a system on a roof.
Our own installers, not changing subcontractors
Your balcony power plant is mounted by our own installers, the same people who build rooftop systems in the region. So you don’t get an anonymous service provider at your door, but a team that handles K2 rails, clamps and cable routes every day. You discuss mounting questions directly with us, not through a hotline. And if something needs tightening or moving later, you know whom to call.
K2 brackets, just like on the roof
A module on a railing offers the wind a large surface, and as the operator you are liable if a module falls. That is why we mount with material from K2 Systems, the manufacturer whose mounting systems we also use on roofs. We match the bracket, tilt and number of fixing points to your balcony, façade or flat roof instead of screwing on a one-size-fits-all part.
Connection check by a qualified electrician
Before your balcony power plant delivers its first electricity, a qualified electrician checks the circuit it will be connected to. This makes sense especially in older houses, where it is often unclear how the line is protected. If you want to use more than 960 Wp of module output, the electrician can fit a special energy socket on request, for example a Wieland socket.
Help with the Marktstammdatenregister
You have to register your balcony power plant yourself, because you are the operator. We give you all the data the form asks for, such as module output, inverter output and commissioning date, and on request we go through the registration with you. That way the entry takes just a few minutes.
Short distances for your balcony power plant in Hannover and the surrounding area
We mount in Hannover and the surrounding area, for example in Langenhagen, Burgdorf, Barsinghausen and Springe. For a site visit or a small follow-up job we don’t drive hundreds of kilometres. That keeps appointments flexible and travel costs low.
Buying a balcony power plant in Hannover: kits from our shop
The PVPro Solar shop (in German) offers components we use ourselves: solar modules from JA Solar and mounting material from K2 Systems. If you buy there and let us do the mounting, module, substructure and installation fit together from the start.

What our shop currently offers
| Product | Contents | Shop price (as of November 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Flat-roof kit JA Solar 450 W with K2 | 1 JA Solar 450 W Full Black module, K2 flat-roof mounting; inverter not included | €490 |
| K2 mounting set for 4 modules | Rails, clamps and 10 m DC cable for pitched or flat roofs | €415 |
Current prices and variants are in the category Balkonkraftwerke & Steckersolar. Two modules of 450 W each add up to 900 Wp and so stay below the 960 Wp limit for a Schuko connection. The inverter (max. 800 VA) is not included in the flat-roof kit. We clarify in the quote which one suits your modules.
Buy locally or online?
Online kits are often cheap, but you have to check the bracket, cable route and connection yourself. Buying in Hannover with installation gets you an on-site assessment: can the railing carry the load, how much shade falls on the balcony, is a Schuko connection enough? In return you pay for the installation. Is that worth it for you? Usually yes if you would have to work at height, plan more than two modules or don’t feel confident with the electrics.
Balcony power plant installation in Hannover: balcony, façade, flat roof or garden
Where your balcony power plant produces the most electricity depends on orientation and shading. South is ideal; east or west deliver less but still decent yields. We mount in these places:
On the balcony railing
The classic option in rented flats. The modules hang on the outside of the railing, slightly tilted or vertical. Vertical gives a little less yield but is less conspicuous and less exposed to wind. What matters is a railing that can carry the load and brackets that hold the module securely even in a storm.
On the façade
If you have no balcony but a sunny house wall, we fix the modules directly to the façade. This is popular above all with owners of a detached house. For listed buildings or areas with a design statute, clarify this with the city first.
On a flat roof, garage or carport
On a flat roof we set the modules up at an angle on a K2 substructure. This usually yields more than vertical mounting on a balcony. Beforehand we check the roof membrane, load-bearing capacity and wind load, because ballasted systems need weight.
In the garden or on the terrace
In the garden the modules stand on a frame wherever they get the most sun. What counts here above all is a safe cable route to the house, so that nobody trips over it and the cable is protected.
Mount it yourself or have it mounted?
With some skill you can fit a two-module kit to a low railing yourself. You should have it mounted if you would have to work at height, drill into the façade, cover a flat roof or plan more than 960 Wp. That is where mistakes in mounting and connection become expensive.
What does a balcony power plant with installation cost in Hannover?
Installing a balcony power plant costs approx. €800 to €1,800 with us. Where you land within this range depends on three things:
- Number of modules: two modules on a railing are mounted faster than four modules on a flat roof.
- Brand: modules, inverters and brackets differ in price and mounting effort.
- Mounting location: balcony, façade, flat roof or garden need different substructures and different amounts of time.
Purchase and installation are usually subject to the 0% VAT rate, in force since 1 January 2023 under § 12 (3) UStG. How much a balcony power plant saves depends on your consumption: a well-oriented kit of around 800 Wp produces about 500 to 600 kWh a year in our region. If you use 250 to 400 kWh of that yourself, you save around €90 to €150 a year at an assumed electricity price of 37 ct/kWh. What kits cost on the market without installation is shown in our guide to the balcony photovoltaic system.
You get your exact price in writing as a fixed price before we start. How our quotes are structured is explained on the page free photovoltaic quote. Request a free, non-binding quote now.
Balcony power plant with battery storage in Hannover
A battery shifts solar power from midday to the evening. This pays off above all if you are rarely at home during the day and a lot of electricity flows unused into the grid at noon. Two points are worth knowing: the new product standard for plug-in solar devices does not yet cover devices with a battery, and you register the battery in the Marktstammdatenregister as a separate unit. We work through size, prices and payback in the guide battery storage for a balcony power plant. When we advise you on your balcony power plant, we clarify whether a battery makes sense in your case.
The rules in brief: power, plug, registration
The details are in our guide to the balcony photovoltaic system. For installation in Hannover these points matter most:
- Power (law): a plug-in solar device is a system with up to 2,000 Wp module output and up to 800 VA inverter output, with all devices behind one meter added together (§ 8 (5a) EEG, Bundesnetzagentur).
- Plug (technical standard): the product standard DIN VDE V 0126-95 of December 2025 allows a Schuko plug up to 960 Wp if the device meets the protection requirements. With a special energy socket such as Wieland, up to 2,000 Wp is possible. This is a technical standard, not a law.
- Registration (law): you register your device in the Marktstammdatenregister within one month of commissioning. A separate notice to the grid operator, in Hannover enercity Netz or Avacon depending on the area, is not needed. The operator gets the data from the register.
- Meter: an old meter may keep running until it is replaced. The metering point operator handles the exchange; you don’t have to order it.
If you rent or live in a homeowners’ association, you need the consent of your landlord or the association, but you are entitled to it. How to make the request and when the building authority has a say is explained in balcony photovoltaic system: approval. Tip: mention in your request that a specialist company will mount the system with K2 brackets. That answers the most common question about safety right away.
Funding for a balcony power plant in Hannover
There is currently no general grant for balcony power plants in Hannover. The well-known proKlima programme DachVollToll only funds rooftop systems and explicitly excludes balcony PV. In addition, the proKlima 2026 funding year has ended; whether and how it continues in 2027 is open. The rooftop programmes of the Hannover Region also apply to rooftop systems, not to plug-in solar devices. An overview of the regional programmes is on solar funding in Hannover.
There is one exception for low-income households: according to hannover.de, the enercity fund proKlima is financing up to 100 balcony solar systems until the end of 2026 for participants in the Stromspar-Check of AWO Region Hannover, in Hannover, Laatzen, Langenhagen, Ronnenberg, Seelze and Hemmingen. Ask the AWO directly whether systems are still available. For everyone else, the 0% VAT is the biggest financial advantage.
How your installation works
- Enquiry: you send us photos of your balcony, façade or roof and tell us how many modules you have in mind.

- Consent: as a tenant or flat owner you now obtain consent. Our details on the mounting help you with that.
- Mounting: our installers fit the modules and inverter with K2 brackets and lay the cable.
- Connection: a qualified electrician checks the circuit and fits the energy socket on request.
- Registration: you enter the device in the Marktstammdatenregister; we support you with all the data.
Balcony power plant or rooftop system in Hannover?
A balcony power plant covers part of your base load, no more, because feed-in stays limited to 800 VA. That is not enough for a heat pump or an electric car. If you have your own roof, a proper system often pays off: as a guide, a 10 kWp system costs €14,500 to €17,500 without storage with us and produces around 8,930 kWh a year in the Hannover region. What is included is on the page buy a photovoltaic system in Hannover. We give you honest advice, even if the smaller balcony power plant turns out to be the better choice.

Frequently asked questions
Why PVPro Solar for your balcony power plant in Hannover?
Because you get everything from one source: modules and K2 brackets from our shop, mounting by our own installers, a connection check by a qualified electrician and help with registration in the Marktstammdatenregister. We are based in Hannover and mount in the city and the surrounding area.
What does installing a balcony power plant in Hannover cost?
Installation costs approx. €800 to €1,800 with us. The exact price depends on the number of modules, the brand and the mounting location, i.e. balcony, façade, flat roof or garden. Purchase and installation are usually subject to 0% VAT.
Do I need an electrician for my balcony power plant?
As a rule, you may plug in a ready-to-use device of up to 960 Wp with a Schuko plug yourself. We still have the connection checked by a qualified electrician. If you want to use up to 2,000 Wp, you need a special energy socket such as Wieland, and that is installed by a qualified electrician.
Do I have to register my balcony power plant with enercity Netz or Avacon?
No. For plug-in solar devices up to 800 VA and 2,000 Wp, registration in the Marktstammdatenregister within one month of commissioning is enough. The grid operator gets the data from the register and may not demand any additional notice.
Is there funding for balcony power plants in Hannover?
There is currently no general grant. proKlima DachVollToll excludes balcony PV, and the 2026 funding year has ended. For low-income households, proKlima is financing up to 100 balcony solar systems until the end of 2026 via the Stromspar-Check of AWO Region Hannover.
Can I have a balcony power plant installed as a tenant in Hannover?
Yes, with your landlord's consent. Since 17 October 2024 you have been entitled to it under § 554 BGB, and the landlord may only refuse in exceptional cases. The landlord may have a say in how it is mounted. Professional K2 mounting helps with your request.
Can I add a battery to my balcony power plant later?
Yes, many systems can be retrofitted. You register the battery in the Marktstammdatenregister as a separate unit. Whether it pays off depends mainly on the price and on how much electricity flows unused into the grid at midday.
